Money-Saving Tips

Happy Holidays!

As the holidays quickly approach and we all scramble to find the perfect gifts for our loved ones, I’d like to share a few of my best money-saving tips (which can also be used when saving for travelling!).

My number one way to save money is to limit the amount you spend on things you don’t need. If you go out with friends and see something that interests you, try to ask yourself, “Do I really need it?” The more you say no, the more money you will save.

Another technique that helps me is to set aside money for specific things you are saving for. Label envelopes, take specific portions out of each paycheck, and soon those envelopes will be filled.

Lastly, do you have a lot of loose change at the bottom of your purse or sitting around your house? Label three jars: Quarters, Dimes and Nickels, and Pennies. Any time you come across change, drop it into the corresponding jar, and you’ll have more money in no time! I’ve been doing this for a while and currently have around $40 in quarters, $25 in dimes and nickels, and $10 in pennies! Test your patience, and wait until the jars are completely full before cashing them in; you’ll be surprised to see how much they come out to be.

Hopefully you all find these tips helpful. I hope all your holidays are wonderful!
