It’s been a CRAZY month and a half. From Charlotte’s visit to Florida to Colorado. I look forward to sharing my adventures with you in my future posts!
After our day at the Cubs game, Charlotte and I headed back to Chicago to check out some museums. We rented Divvy Bikes for just $3 for 30 minutes (This trip took us about an hour, so $6 each.) We started near Ogilvie Station (the train I take) and rode the Lakefront Trail to the Museum of Science and Industry. It was around an 8-mile ride; it was pretty intense if you ask me! Charlotte didn’t seem to think so, but hey, maybe it’s just because I haven’t ridden a bike in a few years. I wasn’t prepared! The Lakefront Trail is very scenic so it was a great ride otherwise.
We used our Go Chicago Card for the Museum of Science and Industry, and they had some fun exhibits. For those of you who enjoy science and hands-on learning, you’d definitely enjoy this place. After exploring for a while, we stopped for a treat at the ice cream shop right inside.
We decided to move on after that and hit the Field Museum next. There was no way I’d survive the bike ride back, so we took a taxi. It was around $17 plus tip. Again, our CityPass came in handy at this museum too. We ventured around the exhibits for quite some time. My favorite was the dinosaurs. The World’s Biggest Dinosaur, a T-Rex named Sue, was deconstructed as her exhibit’s home was under construction, but I still saw my favorite dinosaur, the triceratops. I was looking forward to the mummies too, but they didn’t meet my expectations (which were seeing old, toilet paper-wrapped bodies, of course.)
The Adler Planetarium was next on the list since it’s just down the street from there, but by the time we got there, it was closed. Another day, though! Instead, we took some photos of the cityscape and then walked over to Maggie Daley Park. They recently renovated some of it, adding more playgrounds and a roller rink (ice-skating in the winter.) Then, we headed back to the train station.

I googled “states visited map,” they also have a countries one. I used maploco for mine. Once you’ve created it, you can paste the link into a Text widget! 🙂
